Message from Pastor Dave

Welcome to Community of Faith website! My wife, six kids and I arrived to the West Linn area in February 2012 and found Community of Faith to be a place of blessing to raise our family.
Community of Faith is a new church (January 2010) born out of a clear vision to be true to the Bible, winsome in making followers of Jesus, and passionate about sending people out near and far to spread the Good News of Jesus!
I hope you will come and visit us soon!

Why Community of Faith?

"Terri and I sat next to Holly and Pastor Dave at Cora’s school auction the night before Cody (our nephew) passed.  This was the first time we had met Pastor Dave.  We had been searching for a church to call home and had tried settling in at (a mega church) for about 6 months prior and never felt truly at home.  After returning from the scene (of Cody’s death), we called (the mega church's) pastoral staff and their emergency line.  A few hours passed with unanswered calls so I urged Terri to call Holly and see if Pastor Dave would be willing to talk to us and help with prayers.  Within hours he was on our doorstep and began the walk with us.  We are fortunate in that we met Pastor Dave not just at the right time in our lives for spiritual growth but at the right moment as well.  A couple of weeks later we found the same warmth we received from Pastor Dave was also alive within the congregation at CoF.  This warmth is the reason we have been at CoF every possible Sunday since and now call it our home."

What’s Worship Like?

Our 9:00am and 10:30am services, on most Sundays, are blended services with our congregation worshiping in a variety of styles and singing traditional psalms and hymns as well as contemporary songs.  Our worship team (consisting of high school, college, young adult, and not-so-young adults), including vocalists, piano, guitar, bass, violin, viola, synth, and drums (depending on who is in town) leads us in congregational singing every week.
You may see people with their hands up or down, eyes open or closed; but worship at Community of Faith is all about honoring and giving praise to our Lord and Heavenly Father.  So please feel free to worship in the way that you feel led!
However, worship is more than just singing.  Worship involves all that we do together as the body of believers before our Lord.  At Community of Faith, you will also see us worshipping God through reading the Bible; listening to the preaching of God's Word; sharing in an offering of our gifts and tithes; and spending time in fellowship between services.

Communion and Offering

Communion is available to all believers in Christ every 1st and 3rd Sunday. As a guest, you are not expected to make an offering, but certainly may if you are so led. Offerings are made by our members as part of their commitment to God and the church.

What to Wear?

On Sunday morning, you will see people dressed in a wide range of attire from jeans to dress clothes. We want everyone to feel at home, welcomed, and loved.

Where Will My Children Go?

Children are welcome to stay with you all through church.  However, Preschool through 5th grade children also have the option of attending the available programming for children during both services.  Sunday School follows the great Gospel Light curriculum and will include Children's Choir.  Nursery Attendants are also ready to love on your little ones. The greeters can point you in the right direction.  For more infomation, please contact Holly Sorensen at This email address is being protected from spambots.
